November 2011. We are delighted with the quality and the quantity of projects entered into the SLANT Garden Design Award Competition and we hope you will enjoy viewing the results on www.slant.eu from 07 November. Earlier News This July "SLANT" has launched its second International Design Competition and this time it is an open competition to design a garden for a private residence. What makes this competition different from others is that the project in question is a "virtual project", one which has been designed specifically for this competition. You are invited to write, and to design to, your own brief, and you are free to place this project anywhere in the world. Submissions can be made either online or, if you prefer, paper submissions may be sent by conventional mail. There is a small antry fee of € 30, a prize of € 2,000 and our judges are John Brookes MBE FSGD, Anhony Paul FSGD and Hugh Ryan MIDI MGLDA. Closing date for submissions is 17 October 2011. November 2010: Received the news that project "Landfall" has been accepted for publication by the Liaoning Science and Technology Publishing House of China in their latest publication, "Residential Landscape" October 2010 Hugh spoke at the Garden Design Seminar hosted by the Greenmount Association at the Greenmount Campus in Antrim June 2009 Designed and built project "Sequoia" for Bloom 09 and was awarded Silver Medal March 2009 Hugh spoke at and chaired SGD Spring Conference in London Sept 2008 Attended "private plots & public spots 08" conference in Austria where project "Landfall" had been short listed in their design competition Summer 2007 Designed and built project "Altar Ego" for International Garden Festival at Emo in Ireland 2006 Was short listed in three competittions, a) Liseberg in Sweden, b) RHS Display Garden at Wisley and c) private plots &public spots 06 |
